Welcome to the JAMES Journal blog. We’re looking forward to beginning this journey with you. This is where we’ll be featuring an array of distinct perspectives, decor, and spaces from around the globe.

We also plan to highlight some incredibly talented designers and their work through our Meet The Makers series. You can find this new series on the blog and Instagram Live every Tuesday at 10 am CT. With Meet The Makers, we will get up close and personal with designers to learn more about what they are working on, inspirations, and more.

Whether it’s the story behind the design, unique finds, events, or new arrivals — there will certainly be a texture for everyone. This past December, we were thrilled to open the doors of our new showroom in Houston. We are so grateful for the immense support we’ve had from the community already.

These last few weeks have proven to be very challenging around the world, as we all take drastic efforts to combat the Coronavirus and practice social distancing. We know together, we will get through this and look forward to seeing everyone’s smiling faces once it is safe for us all to gather again. 

Until then, we are adapting to the new normal and taking steps to ensure you have the same personal timely service we always strive to provide. While our showrooms are closed for visits, our team is safe and available to answer calls, emails, send samples, check stock, and place orders. Please be patient with lead times as the current situation will increase times for printing and shipping especially when an item is not in stock.

We have enabled online sample ordering for our trade clients to make it easier to view our collections and order what you need for your projects. We are still adding designs to the website, so if it is currently not listed, please email the showroom for these specific samples and we will add them to your order.For information on how to activate your account, please visit here.

This year, we had quite a few events planned on our spring calendars. With the postponement of all these events, we hope you will use this blog as a resource concerning rescheduling as we plan to keep it updated to the best of our ability with current information.

Texas Design Week - Houston, TX:  TBD

Texas Design Week hosts an array of talented designers from all over the world. JAMES Showroom is scheduled to be a sponsor of this year’s event in Houston.

Rebecca Atwood - Dallas, TX:  TBD

Brooklyn-based designer Rebecca Atwood will host a special event JAMES Showroom in Dallas. Rebecca will be signing copies of her books - including her latest Living With Color. To further paint the picture for you: enjoy a hands-on inspirational experience and watercolor with Rebecca as you peruse some of her latest styles, colors, and patterns.

Dwell With Dignity Thrift Studio - Dallas, TX: Preview Party and Sale:  TBD

If you aren’t familiar with this incredible non-profit, Dwell With Dignity provides home interiors for families in need. Thrift Studio, the organization’s largest annual fundraising event, is a pop-up shop that sells donated furniture, accessories, decorative items, and more. At the event, you’ll find vignettes from standout designers and high-end home decor items for purchase sold at significant discounts. 100% of sales benefit Dwell With Dignity.

MILIEU Designer Showhouse 2020 - Houston, TX:  Tentatively Scheduled Dates: Preview Party - Thursday, May 14, 2020 Tours - May 16-17 and May 23-24, 2020

This year, the MILIEU Designer Showhouse is in its home of Houston, TX in River Oaks. The event will benefit Texas-based charity, Clayton Dabney for Kids with Cancer. MILIEU’s founder and editor-in-chief, Pamela Pierce, has brought together an incredible group of interior designers including Kathryn M. Ireland and Lisa Fine.
